My name is Jae-Hyoun Hong, a passionate tea lover from South Korea. I have been living in Zürich, Switzerland, since 2010.

Before dedicating myself fully to tea, I studied Japanology and linguistics in Korea and Japan, and worked as a researcher in these fields.

When I first arrived in Switzerland, the early days were challenging. During that time, East Asian teas gave me comfort and kept me connected to my home in Asia.

This inspired me to deepen my understanding of tea. I returned to university to study East Asian tea and tea culture in depth (Dept. of Tea Culture Management, Wonkwang Digital University, Korea).

Alongside my studies, I gained hands-on experience in tea shops — advising customers, leading tastings, and hosting workshops. Under the guidance of tea masters from Korea and China, I also practiced the Korean tea ceremony and Chinese Gongfu tea, exploring all six main tea categories to understand their unique qualities.

Through years of learning and working with tea, it has helped me take root in this new country. Tea has even become an inner home — a familiar companion that keeps me connected to myself wherever I go.

This journey with tea has been wonderful, and I’m delighted to share it with you.
